B – Copy SSH keys using ssh without ssh-copy-id. In case you don’t have ssh-copy-id on your instance, you can also use the SSH command to securely transfer your file to the server. The command is longer but it is as secure as a regular ssh-copy-id command. Here is the command to copy your SSH keys to your client host. Generating Your SSH Public Key Many Git servers authenticate using SSH public keys. In order to provide a public key, each user in your system must generate one if they don’t already have one. In larger organizations, the number of SSH keys on servers and clients can easily grow to tens of thousands, in some cases to millions of keys. In large quantities, SSH keys can become a massive security risk and they can violate compliance requirements. Universal SSH Key Manager can manage PuTTY keys in addition to OpenSSH and Tectia keys. Important note: The most common problems when setting up Git on Windows are related to SSH keys. If you don't want to reenter your passphrase every time you use your SSH key, you can add your key to the SSH agent, which manages your SSH keys and remembers your passphrase.

Before adding a new SSH key to the ssh-agent to manage your keys, you should have checked for existing SSH keys and generated a new SSH key. When adding your SSH key to the agent, use the default macOS
ssh-add command, and not an application installed by macports, homebrew, or some other external source.
If you have GitHub Desktop installed, you can use it to clone repositories and not deal with SSH keys. It also comes with the Git Bash tool, which is the preferred way of running
git commands on Windows.

Once you upload your SSH key to the portal, you can connect to your virtual machine from Windows through a PuTTY session.
Git Bash
The Git installation package comes with SSH. Using Git Bash, which is the Git command line tool, you can generate SSH key pairs. Git Bash has an SSH client that enables you to connect to and interact with Triton containers on Windows.
